24 Hr Challenge for January & What's Going On With Me

This is the sketch I had to follow to do my LO for Scrappin-n-Chattin's(http://groups.yahoo.com/group/scrappin-n-chattin/) 24 Hour Challenge. I titled it "family" since it is my dad, stepmom- Tammy, Tyler, and Emily in the pics. The paper is Basic Grey Oliver Sam with BG Oliver Jordan (diagonal stripes) and BG Oliver Austin (red/white) photo mats. Yes, I Googled those names to get the right page names! ;) The border at the bottom is also part of the Basic Grey Oliver Collection sticker set. The journaling states that "pics taken 11-24-10. Daddy, Tammy, & Tyler came to visit us & other family for the week of Thanksgiving. Both pics were taken in Emily & Scott's living room. Obviously, Scott isn't in either picture. I believe he took the bottom pic of Emily, Daddy, Tyler, and me. These pictures were taken right before Daddy, Tammy, Tyler, & I left to go to Plymouth to my grandparents' house for Thanksgiving & before the crying." Then in parentheses "see left side"- "Leaving is always the hardest!"  I chose this page because of Tyler and his love for animals and monkeys in particular! He loves Curious George and my dad used to call me & Emily "monkeys" when we were little. I probably should have titled the LO that instead, but family seemed more appropriate! To be honest, family was already on a tag, monkeys wasn't! ;) I didn't really put a whole lot into this LO, because I was tired and chatting on FB and playing FarmVille all at the same time! It was late this morning when I finished it, also. I figured the paper had enough on it that it didn't need the extra embellishments!

My scrapbooking may be taking the back burner soon. TJ Maxx called me back this past week and I decided to take them up on their offer. I'm going to stay with Party Suppliers, my current job and work with TJ Maxx. I need to get caught up on bills and it will be good experience. I can't wait to buy more clothes honestly and will be able to with my discount! ;) I'll just have to watch my spending!! Please keep me in prayers as I begin this new experience! I pray I get some rest between the two jobs as well! I have a feeling I'll be working at TJ Maxx more than Party Suppliers, but maybe I'll still have a day off between the two jobs! That might be wishful thinking! I shall soon see! Have a great weekend and thanks for letting me share my scrapbooking and new job experience with you all!

The Paper Variety's Latest Challenge

The Paper Variety's (http://thepapervariety.blogspot.com/) challenge for this week is Friendship Challenge. I chose the title "faithful friend", because Cing has always been a faithful friend to me! She has always set me straight whenever I needed it! LOL!  The quote states that "A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart & can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words. -author unknown." I think this is true, because she has always told me what I needed to do in life if I wasn't doing them! We also used to love to sing together while she played the guitar in our room! The journaling states that "Cing & I were roommates at Johnson Bible College from 1995-1996. We both went back for Homecoming in 2005. I took the picture of Cing holding Zachary up facing Andrea. She took the picture of me in the pink outfit! Her husband, Carson, is in the red shirt at the table. We try to keep in touch either online, by mail, or on the phone as much as possible!" I chose this journaling block because she lives in Illinois and I live in North Carolina. She is orginally from Burma. The main 12x12 page is from Marcella by K Birthday Paper Pad that Maxine, a friend of mine gave me last weekend. The blue and purple background photo mats are also from her, but K & Company Assortments. Please join me on The Paper Variety's blog (see link above) for this challenge! There's a quote that they suggested to use on the LO, but I chose a favorite quote I've been wanting to use. Be looking for another post from me tomorrow. I have a 24 Hour Challenge to participate with Scrappin-n-Chattin (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/scrappin-n-chattin/messages)!

2 Pg Celebrate LO

I did this 2 pg LO for Scrappin-n-Chattin (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/scrappin-n-chattin/) for the Celebrate Challenge. My Great Great Uncle Esper has never had a birthday party that he could remember, so his granddaughter, Joanna, made sure he had a surprise party for his 93rd birthday! I forgot to include a pic of him on the LO because I forgot to print out the pic that I took of him. I also have a pic of the pigs that everyone picked at, it was dinner and then birthday cake and other desserts afterwards. He loves boiled peanuts, so that's why they were beside the birthday cake. I used a Unity stamp- "Life is like a bowl of STRAWBERRIES you never know how ripe you're gonna get." from the Berry Good Life stamp set I received from a blog hop or a blog giveaway a while back. It's to the right of the birthday cake pic. I loved the bday cake candles that were used as decorations and wanted to take a pic of them! I kinda waited until they were cleaning up to take a pic of the candles, but they didn't seem to mind! The pics on the 2nd pg are of the decorations on each table and my grandmama talking to her brother-my Great Uncle Zane Grey and my mom. The ribbon was tied around the napkins to hold the plasticware inside, I decided to save it for the LO! The balloons/gift block I put in my Zyron sticker maker and put it in wrong, so the stickiness is on the outside and I ended up using a glue stick to adhere the sticker to the page. I'll look at the tape the next time I use it! The letters used to make the title "Happy Birthday" are from an Alphabet book of different "fonts" I have. The photo backings are from my goodies from Nikki In Stitches. I love giveaways! :) The purple brad holding the ribbon on the journaling block "Party Time" are from my Bottle Swap from Scrapbook Challenges (http://scrapbookchallenges.ning.com/) from Debi. The Celebrate sticker is from a Basic Occasion collection I received from my stepsiblings one Christmas and the dunts hat is leftover from Tyler's 1st birthday stickers. The block I messed up on I cut out of a Birthday 8x8 book I bought. The ink pens are Creative Memories.

I'm rambling about my LO, because I'm worried about a friend who's in the ER right now with stomach pains, throwing up, and chills. I pray it's just the flu. She thinks she ate too much junk food and it has messed her system up. I would normally be in bed by now, but am wide awake from worrying about her. Please pray for her or keep her in your thoughts. Her name is Maxine. Thanks and thanks for looking at my LO!

Two Of My Latest Creations

I did both of these LOs for Scrappin-n-Chattin (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/scrappin-n-chattin/). The first LO the challenge was to use the words "New" or "Year" in the title. So I chose to title it "My New Favorite Hoodie" and included a pic of me in that hoodie. The green designed paper behind the pic is from a prize I won from Nikki, In Stitches (http://nikkiinstitches.wordpress.com/) from a blog hop I participated in. Can you tell the ribbon on the tag is in the shape of a heart?! I decided to do that after I curled the ribbon!  I used the sketch to follow in the 2nd LO- White Background LO- and I also used some more of those goodies from Nikki! The pics in this LO are of the snow we got the day after Christmas. I was the only one brave enough to go outside that day and get pictures! My stepdad made the nativity scene. I think I have already shown these pics on my blog in another post, but haven't scrapped them until now! TFL! I have one more LO to do tomorrow afternoon so I may have another post tomorrow! Have a good night, all!

My First LO of 2011

I did this LO for Scrappin-n-Chattin's (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/scrappin-n-chattin/) Character LO for this month's challenge. I chose Tigger as my character, because my mom gave Kylee, my cousin's daughter, a stuffed Tigger for Christmas! I chose the title "The Best Christmas Present Ever", because it was annoying to her parents but Kylee loved it! It plays music and make talk. I just remember it is loud and annoying! The words "Christmas", "Present", and "Ever" are cut out of a magazine and birthday cards. I didn't want to use letters and wouldn't to do something different! The journaling blocks tell who is in the pic on the small block to the left and the blue block to the right tells about how my mom gave this to Kylee and how it's loud. Be looking for some more LOs soon! I have a few more pics that I just developed waiting to be scrapped!
