Now on with the hop!

This is 3 Christmas ornaments I made for a swap back in November. I never blogged about them. They can easily be made for Last Minute gifts. The first one was originally a miniature cheese grater found in the cooking section. I used super glue to keep the ribbon down and used up most of the glue. The bells came on the ribbon.

The heart is a cookie cutter and I added ribbon with pom poms on it with hot glue.

The last ornament is made of safety pins, pipe cleaners, and small glass beads. The star on top is a sticker that I added on both sides. I found this idea off of Pinterest. If you go to the link, you can tell I changed up the beads and the pipe cleaners. I made it my own way! All the supplies were bought at Wal-Mart in the cooking, sewing, and crafts sections. I don't remember how much everything cost, but I'm sure it was all under $20.

Here's a close-up of all 3.
They were all fun to make. The only one I had a problem with was the Safety pin Christmas tree ornament, but once I got it right it didn't take me long.

Next up is (Sue) and I'm sure she has something beautiful to share with us.
If you get lost along the way, here is the entire lineup:

This last month of the year we are focusing all our attention on metallics, whether it's foil, embossing powder, inks or cardstock, anything metallic and since it's December we just had to make it holiday too.

Now on with the projects.
You should have arrived from Claudia's blog, but if not please begin at Theresa's blog.  I didn't have any metallic paper so I chose Stickles and gold embossed paper for my metallic portion for this swap. As you can see I made a Christmas card. The card base is a part of Recollections Christmas Noel Chalk Holiday 8.5 x 11 Cardstock Paper that I  cut down the to A2 card size. The gold Merry Christmas paper is fussy cut from Craft Smith Embossed 8.5 x 11 Paper Pad and I traced over it with a green American Crafts gel pen. The stocking, holly, ornament, and mug are all fussy cut from the same page from Pebbles Home For Christmas 12 x 12 paper pad. I used Stickles Waterfall and Stickles Golden Rod to accent each item. The washi tape is either Recollections or American Crafts. I don't remember if I bought it from TJ Maxx or Michaels. I'll include a note inside before mailing it. Thanks for stopping by! Debbie is the last stop on the hop and I'm sure she has something lovely to share with us! :) Feel free to hop along with me in the Holiday Magic Blog Hop, the next post, if you wish.

Give Thanks Blog Hop

'Thank you' is the best prayer that anyone could say. I say that one a lot. Thank you expresses extreme gratitude, humility, understanding.
Alice Walker

Welcome to the Give Thanks Blog Hop! You should have arrived from (LISA) or if you are lost start at the beginning (ALICIA). As we approach the holiday season, I think it is appropriate we should reflect on things for which we can be thankful. We can be grateful for the little things and we should be grateful for the big things. We should take the time to give thanks for all the persons and moments that make our lives so special.
Sooooo, we would like to say a HUGE THANKS to our sponsor today.
Theresa is giving away a $20 Stampin' Up Gift Certificate to one lucky winner AND
take 10% off any order placed through her (not available on website) by November 30th.

Now on with the hop!

Ok, I'm glad I followed Lisa, because I'm gonna add some humor! LOL  I really wanted to create a Thanksgiving card, but I couldn't find my Thanksgiving stamps anywhere in my stash. So since I couldn't find my stamps, you're stuck with this layout!  The paper is from Colorbok 12 x 12 Designer Paper Holiday Extravanganza. The stickers are from my stash, I threw away the packaging. All 3 photo mats are from Jolee's Boutique Fall 8 x 8 Paper Pad. I'm going to take pictures at my family gathering and will add them to this layout. I'll add journaling somewhere, too. I'm sure I'll take more than 3 so I'll probably do another layout and will have found my stamps by then! Jason is going with me to meet my dad's side of the family so I'm excited! 😊 I always look forward to being with my dad's side of the family on Thanksgiving since we don't see each other that often during the year. So, I'm thankful to be able to be with them as often as I can! I'll post an updated version of this layout once I take and have the pictures printed so be sure to become a follower and come back to see it completed! 😉

Now on with the projects.

This month it's all about the see through stuff...vellum and acetate.
I decided to make a wedding card  for this hop and for a friend that just got married last Saturday. I didn't attend the wedding, but she was a Sunday School teacher with me so I wanted to make her a card. Anyway, on with the card! :) The card base is Recollections A2 card. The paper is Close to My Heart My Reflections La Vie En Rose Collection and is double sided so I used a piece of the back for the trim down the middle. The stamps- Congratulations, kissing birds, and on your wedding-  are Close To My Heart  I Do Occasions stamp set and I used VersaFine Onyx Black Pigment Ink to stamp them. I'm on a roll with Close To My Heart on this card! :) The vellum is from Best Occasions Mixed Media Pack that I totally forgot about and glad I found it! The pearl bling is a RAK from my friend, Lisa. TFL!

We really love feedback,
so please leave a comment on each of the blogs in today's hop.

Happy Happy Happy Birthday

I made this card for Jason, my boyfriend that I just met about a month ago now on Plenty Of Fish. His birthday is this coming Saturday and even though the paper doesn't look masculine these are his favorite colors. The card base is Recollections A2. The paper is from K&Company 12" x 12"Que Sera Sera Double Sided Designer Paper that I cut down to fit the card. I cut it a little short, but it doesn't look that bad. The stamp is Stampabilities Happy Happy Happy Happy Birthday and I used VersaFine Black Onyx Pigment Ink to stamp it on typing paper and I fussy cut the paper with decorative scissors. I'll include a mushy message before Saturday. :) He told me not to buy him anything, but I wanted to buy him something so I bought him Polo Blue Body Spray. He already has some Polo and I've told him that has always been my favorite men's cologne. He's a sweetheart and been single since 2009. He's been married before and his 3 grown children. The only child I might meet soon is his 20 year-old son that is mentally challenged that he is trying to get custody of soon. He lives in Jacksonville about 45 minutes SW depending on traffic. He's supposed to come see me Saturday and go to Mum Fest- an annual Fall Festival downtown New Bern- with me. I've never had a date go with me to Mum Fest so I'm excited! It was rescheduled because of Hurricane Matthew. TFL and come back tomorrow as I will be participating in a Techniques Blog Hop.

Rock On

I made this card for my brother, Tyler's 9th birthday. I used Recollections A2 card base. The paper is actually a photo mat that I cut down to fit the card from Creative Memories Discover Rock Grunge Additions Collection as are the 2 stickers. The collection may be discontinued since it was made in 2009 and the lady that gave me the Creative Memories goodies is no longer a Creative Memories Consultant. She brought what she had left to me and another friend at church to let us choose what we wanted! Sweet, right? I chose the rock paper, because I introduced him to Newsboys/Jesus Freak- originally a DCTalk song but they split and are in 3 different groups- on his 4th birthday. He loved it and played an air guitar in the car when he heard the song!

Okay, I felt like Lisa, she knows who she is,  when I made the inside! The marks should give her away if you follow her blog! LOL! I love you, Lisa! I used Stampin' Up Remembering Your Birthday, which is actually part of a stamp- "friends and fun and presents too! Happy Birthday", but I covered the friends and fun and presents too! part of the stamp with a piece of paper before stamping it on the card. Here's where I felt like Lisa, I stamped the sentiment/happy birthday vertical inside the card instead of horizontal! So, I added a piece of The Paper Company Assorted Cardstock Citrus Color Sheets 8.5" x 11" that I trimmed down to fit the card and then the second time I stamped it, I used a napkin and part of the friends and fun, yada yada, stamped on the paper. I was able to peel up the paper and try one more time! Third times a charm and it worked! I used Versa Fine Onyx Black pigment ink to stamp with. Luckily, Elmer's Craft Bond Permanent Tape Runner is not too permanent and didn't tear my card! I included a $15 Toys R Us gift card in his card since I wasn't able to see him this year for his birthday. He's moved to CT with his mom, my stepmom. My dad, sister, and I aren't happy about that since she decided to move with no notice until she had already made the decision. My dad is going to get a lawyer to file for joint custody of Tyler. He and my stepmom split last November, over a year ago now and I would appreciate any prayers anyone is willing to give up for my dad. TFL and have a great weekend!

Encouragement Card

I made this card for future use when I need an encouragement card. Both stamps are from Unity Stamp Company Eloise Girl set and I used Versafine Onyx Black Pigment Ink to stamp them on typing paper. I used Spectrum Noir Essentials Professional Colored Pencils to color in Eloise and the flowers. The card base is Recollecions A2. The washi tape is from Oriental Trading. The paper is from Colorbok Glam Girl 12 x 12 Designer Paper Pad that I bought from WalMart. That's it for today. TFL!

A Day At the Beach

I made this card for a swap yesterday and am just getting around to blogging about it. I'm entering this card in  The Sisterhood of Craf...
