Cutting the Cake

I making an 8.5 x 11" wedding scrapbook for my sister and brother-in-law. They got married last Saturday. March 26. This is the first page I've made so far. I used a 8.5 x 11 stationary sheet to trim down this what was originally 12 x 12 in page from Craft Smith Love Story Paper Pad. The photo mats and the journaling block is leftover scraps of paper from my sister and BIL. Their wedding was beach themed so that's why their cake is so beachy. They decorated the bucket- along with a lot more- on the table to the right of the cake. The flowers are from Recollections Strawberry and Cream and Seaside 8.5 x 11 collections.
Above is a close-up of the journaling- Brian & Emily Carter after feeding each other cake.
I followed a tutorial on All Free Paper Crafts on how to make the scalloped roses. The trick is to use a round bottle/glass to trace a circle with a pencil on a piece of paper. Then you use scalloped edged scissors and cut in a spiral to make the roses. You can use a quill tool to wrap the rose and make it tight, but I used a pencil and my finger to roll them. I should have said the reason why I used blue and pink is because the colors for Brian and Emily's wedding were teak and pink. I was the maid of honor and wore a red violet dress. I decided to take close-ups of the flowers to show the different colors of Stickles I used in each flower. I used Waterfall, Lime Green. and Diamond Stickles.

I glued them all- as well as everything else on the layout- with Tombow Mono Aqua Liquid Glue. I realize they'll be smashed when I finish the book, but I made the flowers for a challenge on Facebook for Girls. Giggles, Glitter, and Glue. TFL!

Oh Happy Day

I made this layout for a challenge for Soul Scrappers (http://soul-scrappers.ning.com/) using all the embellishments that were sent in the mail to me. I didn't use all the goodies I was sent. I didn't wanna cover up the patterned paper. The paper is from Craft Smith Love Story 12 x 12 Paper Pad. The pictures are from my sister's wedding this past weekend. They used the sand ceremony instead of the unity candle. The other pic is of them dancing their first dance as husband/wife. I used water color paint on the Oh Happy Day stamps The stamps are from Close To My Heart My Acrilix My Anchor set. The watercolor paint is Shimmerz  Vibez Razzeldazzle Berry and Jeni B Bleu.
close-up of Oh Happy Day stamps- thinking about redoing this part because of how the paint ran I wrote over the letters with a black ink pen so you could see them. I have a lot more wedding pics to scrap! I'm making an 8.5 x 11 scrapbook for my sister and brother-in-law. I made this layout for myself. TFL! I will post another pic on this post when I redo the title stamp piece.

Here is my giveaway. I had to take 3 pictures of it, because I have so much to giveaway to a lucky winner! I will announce a winner Monday morning, March 21. Please make sure you are a follower of my blog and all the blogs/You Tube channels in order to win. I hit up Dollar Tree last night. They have some great scrapbook stickers for $1!
The stickers are on the stationary aisle and I saw this post-it collection and knew they would fit the Spring Theme! I tried to stick to Spring Theme with all the stickers. I decided to throw in camping and circus sets since the circus comes to town in the spring and it's starting to get warm enough to camp. I know some people who camp all year round! I know some members in our group are also into sewing so I through those stickers in as well! I also saw some washi tape. I was tearing into their sticker collection looking for spring stickers and left a bunch just laying on the shelf. They fall off when you're trying to look through them anyway! LOL I also bought some washi tape and stickers for myself!
This is a close-up of the pink rhinestone stickers. I apologize for the glare. I didn't have the flash on, but the light in the dining room is so bright that it caused the glare. I know you can't tell in the picture, but they are light pink.
Now onto my project. As you can see I am the first stop on the hop today. I decided to make a Mother's Day card for my mom. I originally wanted to add an action wobble to the hummingbird stamped image, but couldn't find it anywhere in my stash! I'm sure I'll find it later when I'm not looking for it. I found a lot of other things I had forgotten about! It always happens that way! I started out with Recollections A2 Card Base and added a piece of Me and My Big Ideas MAMBI Spring Kit May 12 x 12" patterned paper. The pink patterned paper strip at the top is from Pebbles Lakeside 6 x 6" Paper Pad. The happy sticker is from my stash. The blue ribbon is from a Best Occasions Rainbow Self-Adhesive Ribbon Collection. The rainbow enamel dots in the top right corner are also from my stash. The hummingbird and flower stamped images were from the Stamped Image Swap we had in 4G's the end of February. I received both images from Connie Davis. I also added a strip of washi tape from my stash on the spine of the card to cover up a mistake I made when I cut the pink paper! I used Spectrum Noir Essentials Professional Pencils to color in the stamped images. I added pop dots to the hummingbird since I couldn't find the action wobble. I underlined Mother's Day with a Zig Memory System Purple 0.5 mm pen since there's so many other holidays mentioned on the patterned paper.

I added another stamped image from Germaine on the inside! My card wouldn't lay flat because of the washi tape on the outside so I used the roll of washi tape to hold it down so I could take the picture! I wanted to use some 3 Girl JAM crinkled ribbon instead, but it's lost in my stash as well. I will write a note on the card before giving it to my mom.
I hope you have enjoyed my project. Please go to Kim's YouTube channel (https://youtu.be/bho-n2TodyI) next. Remember to follow all the blogs and YouTube channels in order to win the prizes offered along the way. If you are not a member of 4G's- Girls, Giggles, Glitter, and Glue, please PM Dawnette Cress on Facebook to request to join the group. The giveaways are only available to 4G's group members. Have a great weekend and enjoy the rest of the hop!

Before I get to my project I must say, "Happy Birthday Connie!!!" Now on to my project. I decided to make a 2 page layout of Tyler's- my little brother- 8th Birthday. His birthday was last November 2, but we celebrated November 1 after Sunday lunch- spaghetti! The following pictures is of the cake, him excited about the cake, and blowing out the candles. The 12 x 12 paper for both layouts is from DCWV All About Boys 12 x 12 Stack, the border paper on both layouts is from a Colorbok Assorted set that I bought from Big Lots- it's called Cinnamon, rainbow washi tape strips on both layouts is Studio G, I used birthday confetti 6 x 6 paper from my stash as the mats for the top 2 pics, the party hat and star sticker with the streamer are Recollection Happy Birthday Collection, the Make a Wish and so thankful for you chipboard stickers are Studio G.
second layout- you can see I decided to use pieces of the birthday confetti on this layout as well
I typed the journaling out on the computer- Top row: card and Darth Vader from Daddy & Tammy- he's shaking the Darth Vader Lego set First 2 pics on middle row: card & Despicable Me paint/activity book from me Card on middle row & pics on last row: gifts from Emily & Brian. I matted the journaling and the title on pieces of green Best Occasions Textured 12 x 12 Paper. I will include the picture of Darth Vader in May for May the 4th Be With You- Star Wars- Blog Hop so please come back in May to see that layout!
both layouts together

Happy Easter

I made this 6 x 6" layout for a swap I'm in. This is the first of 4. The paper is Studio Calico Lemon Lush Collection. The borders are actually 2 12 x 12" Page Accents Scrapbooking Memories Reversible Borders that I cut down 2 times each to fit the page. The yellow flower is from another swap and I raised the petals a little to give the flower some dimension. I added a butterfly gem from my stash in the center with Tombow MONO Aqua Liquid Glue. The pink butterfly punch in the top right corner is from my stash. The flower sticker at the bottom is from my stash. The yellow square- Bits and Pieces of Life and the polka dot rectangle for a picture are both from Simple Stories SNAP Life 6 x 6" paper pad. The title- Happy Easter stamp is Craft Smart and I stamped it with Versa Fine Onyx Black Pigment Ink- both papers are from my stash. I used a Spellbinders die on a Spellbinders Grand Calibur to cut the dies. I'm entering this layout in Tuesday Throwdown Frame It Challenge.

Too Pretty

This is the 2nd of 4 6 x 6" layouts I'm making for a swap. The paper is from Authentique Classique: Elegant 6 x 6" Bundle as is the title tab- Too Pretty, Elegance is Good Taste plus a Dash of Daring, and that's classic journaling tag and the blue rectangle for a picture. The blue gems at the top right are from my stash. The stamped image is from a swap and is  originally from Unity Stamp Company November 2015 New Release Phyllis Harris A Sky With No Limit stamp set. I used Spectrum Noir Essentials Blendable Professional Pencils to color in the image. I added 3 Girl JAM Sweet Cream crinkled ribbon from the Coffee bundle to the journaling tag. I'm submitting this layout to Ruby's Rainbow Ch#124 *Celebrate Women's Day*. TFL and have a great weekend!

A Day At the Beach
