Happy Mother's Day

I made the following card for an online Mother's Day swap and used the sketch- PCC126- above from Paper Craft Crew. The challenge ends Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 1 EST.
The card base is Recollections 4 x 5.5" Ivory card set. The orange floral PP strip is from Six by Six by My Mind's Eye Happier Designer Cardstock Paper Pad. The doily is from a Recollections set. The word "happy" is actually from The Stamps of Life cake2stamp set or a birthday set. The paper didn't have the word "happy" on it so I improvised. It's from a Me and My Big Ideas Spring Set from Michaels. I used Ranger Archival Jet Black Ink to stamp happy and the stamped image. The stamped image is from Unity Stamp Company Warm Inside set. I used Crayola Colored Pencils and American Crafts Colorcopia Colored Pencils to color in the stamp. The flower is from Michaels Paper Spring Eyelet Delight Flowers. It had a pearl in the middle, but when I placed the flower through my Xyron 1.50 Create A Sticker Maker, the pearl got stuck and came off. Luckily, I own a Making Memories II set that has a pair of tweezers in it and I was able to retrieve the pearl! I added the green bling from my stash. The twine is Watermelon Sorbet from Timeless Twine. TFL. I made 2 other Mother's Day cards for the same swap and will posting about them soon.

Feel Better Wooly Soon

I used the above sketch to enter my card into Connie Can Crop Monthly Challenge #56.
The card base is Recollections A2 Kraft. The paper strips are from American Crafts Studio Calico Lemon Lush 6" x 6" paper pad. The blue bling is from my stash. The sheep die and the sentiment is from The Stamps of Life sheep2stamp  & die sheep collection. I used Spectrum Noir Essentials Professional Colored Pencils- well just grey- to add some color to the sheep. The tag behind the sheep is from Prima Marketing Rosy Belle Ephemera. The rikrak ribbon is from Vintage Rose Emporium and the green strip is from K&Company Amy Butler Belle 4"x 6" mat pad. I made this card for my grandmother who's been having problems walking due to her hips giving her problems. She can't get around any more without a walker. TFL!

Now onto my project.

I made a birthday card for my cousin's daughter, Grace, who will be turning a year old next week. The card base is Recollections Kraft A2. I used The Paper Studio A2 Cupcakes Embossing Folder (that I borrowed from a friend) on The Paper Company Assorted Cardstock Citrus Color Sheets 8.5" x 11" that I trimmed down to run through my Cricut Cuttlebug Mint and to fit the card. I used Elmer's Craft Bond Permanent Tape Runner to glue the paper to the card. The sentiment- Happy Birthday Cupcake is from Unity Stamp Company So Glad You Were Born February 2016 Sentiment Kit and I used Ranger Archival Jet Black Ink to stamp it. I stamped it on a piece of K&Company Amy Butler Belle Mat Pad that I cut with decorative scissors and adhered it with my Xyron 1.50 Create A Sticker Machine. The Watermelon Sorbet twine is from Twineology by Timeless Twine.

Up next is (Rebecca- http://rebeccaanndesigns.com/ ) and I'm sure she has something awesome to share with you.

Discover Yourself Challenge

I made this layout for a Discover Yourself Challenge with Soul Scrappers. It's a private group, but there is a sign up link at the top if you'd like to join the group. The challenge is closed, but those that wanted to participate in the challenge were sent an envelope full of goodies. I didn't use all of mine, but I did use most of them. All the embellishments on this layout is from that envelope The paper is from Creative Memories Uncharted Designer Paper Pack and the photo mat behind the bottom picture of me is from the same pack. I chose Holli's Creative Memories (CM) link, because I won the paper pack along with some other CM goodies from a previous blog hop that I was in with her. These pictures were taken in June 2016 a week before my 40th birthday. I added journaling on the tag- my 40th birthday visit with Laura & Doug in Nichols, NY. The top picture was taken at Watkins Glen State Park and the bottom picture was taken inside of a tow truck. I took a Greyhound bus from Rocky Mount, NC to Binghamton, NY and when I met up with my friend, Laura, at Binghamton, her air conditioner froze up so we had to take a tow truck to her house- about an hour maybe. This trip definitely reminded me of the movie, Planes, Trains, and Automobiles except I went from a bus to a pick-up truck to a tow truck! LOL! Southwestern NY is beautiful countryside if you ever get to visit! I did stop at Manhattan Port Authority on one of my bus stops/connections and wouldn't wanna live in that part of NY! You had to walk at a fast pace or get ran over. I'm a Southerner and not used to the fast pace! Back to the layout, sorry for the side note. The quote- "You will recognize your own path when you come upon it, because you will suddenly have all the energy and imagination you ever need."- Jerry Gilles was a quote given on the group website that we were to chose from a list of quotes to include on our layout. We were to make a layout or a mixed media project. I chose a layout, because they're easier to make. I did this layout in a hurry, but once I placed the pictures down the mojo just started flowing and I placed the embellies where I thought they would fit. I put the arm on the clock at 10 and 4 thinking that 10 x 4 = 40 and celebrate brad in the middle to hold the arm down since I was celebrating my birthday. It seemed like the fastest layout I've ever made. TFL! I will be in a blog hop this coming Friday and hope you will come back and join me. I'll post a banner about it on my blog soon. Have a great day! :)
