24 Hr Challenge LO

I did this LO last night based on the sketch above it for a 24 Hour Challenge with http://groups.yahoo.com/group/scrappin-n-chattin/. I've never done one and decided to join in on the fun! I had a long day and am tired so I won't make this a long post. I had fun today at my family get together- my mom's side.

Technique LO/Job Status

I made this LO yesterday for Scrapbook Challenges. The Challenge was called Technique: cut shapes out of PP, tear paper, & roll paper. That was the requirements. I decided to use this picture of my cousin, Pat's first birthday Aug 21, 1974. The rolled piece on the far right is a candle and the 4 rolled pieces are like baby steps. I enjoyed doing this LO. I had to make sure I put the right birthday on the LO, cuz I'm posting this on FB so my cousin can see it. The flower at the top of the picture wouldn't show up when I took the picture at first, so I put the purple glittery paper behind it. It helped some! The flower is white and pink. The blue flower with the journaling in it is textured as well as the pink flower. I've had the cousin PP for awhile and have been wanting to use it and this picture fits! :)

Concerning my job status, I was let go by TJ Maxx this past Friday. I updated my FB, but don't know if everyone that reads this is on FB. I was told by the store manager that they had to do a 25% cutback. I was a basketcase that afternoon! I went in to get my check and she let me go then. I was able to work Friday night and Saturday. I went back in the office Saturday while I was working to talk to her and she told me that the next termination she would call me back. I told her that I really enjoyed working there and asked if I could be kept on as a floater. She mentioned calling me back after the next termination. That could be as soon as July 1. They can only have a certain number on staff at a time. So, please pray that she will call me back! If not, I will start looking for another job. I know Michael's is coming to our mall soon, but a few stores have to move before they can open. I don't know how soon those stores will be moving. It's a total of 3 stores: Hallmark, Hibbett's Sports, and a volunteer police station. They've already started on Michael's and will be taking up those 3 stores plus one more that has been closed for awhile. I don't know if those stores that are moving will move somewhere else in the mall. I would hope the police station moves somewhere else in the mall! They took a lot of time fixing that for them and people depend on them in the mall! So for now, I'm laying low around the house. My birthday is Sunday and plan on having a good day at church and chilling at home the rest of the day. I have the computer during both services Sunday morning and have to set it up tonight. Saturday is the annual James family get together at my grandmama's house and I'm making flag sugar cookies for that since we usually get together around the 4th. So, I'm keeping myself busy!

Altered Steno book swap/Father's Day coming up

I'm participating in an altered steno book swap with http://groups.yahoo.com/group/scrappin-n-chattin/ & decided to share my part in the swap! I just made this. We were given requirements to follow, but I made mine a little smaller. It was supposed to be 6 x 8 3/4 to save room for the spiral top for a 6 x 9 steno book, mine is 6 x 8 1/2. Mine is for someone that may want to write recipes down in a steno book or possibly a grocery list or meal planning, whatever the other person decides.

I went shopping this morning and bought my dad, stepdad, and grandfather's Father's Day presents. I don't wanna tell what I bought them just in case my dad or stepdad reads this! You never know! ;) I'm sure they will enjoy what I got them, well Emily & I got them. I will post next week on here what I got them. I can say I got my grandfather a nice card, he doesn't have a computer so I know he won't read this! I hope all of you remember to wish your dad's, significant others, grandfather's, etc a Happy Father's Day! If it wasn't for them we wouldn't be here! Have a good night! Tonight is game 7 of the NBA Finals. Will it be the Lakers or Celtics with the 2010 NBA title? We shall see!

Graduation LO

I just made this 8x8 LO for an online friend who just graduated from nursing school. Scrappin'-n'-Chattin' Yahoo group got together and made her an 8x8 album for her graduation and I didn't have the money at the time to mail a LO, so mine is a little late. I'm sure she'll enjoy it! I have to start getting ready for work soon. I wanted to update my blog before I went to work. Have a good night, all!

My week so far & Tiny Alphas LO

I made this LO yesterday using tiny alphabet stickers. Emily and Haylee are in the pics. We went to River North Park in Greenville, NC. The journaling tells what we did at the park that day: pedal boating, fishing, walking, and had a picnic in the park pavilion.

I worked Sunday night, dressed up and wore new shoes that I bought the day before from TJ Maxx- Skechers. I won't do that again! My feet were killing me by the end of my shift! I walked the floor all night- put up clothes from the front & dressing rooms. I worked the dressing rooms for about 25 minutes, too. I was off Monday & Tuesday. I did laundry on Monday and was lazy all day. Tuesday, yesterday, I did this LO  and walked to the store with my sister. She wanted to look at a house in our subdivision that's for rent and I took a picture of it on my cell phone for her.I worked today from 11-4. I was at the mall from 7:30-5 because I had to ride with my mom when she went in to work. While I sat and waited in the mall I read some of One Tuesday Morning & Beyond Tuesday Morning by Karen Kingsbury (a good book about Sept 11), texted my cousin & Emily, shopped at Hallmark, & then ate lunch in the break room at work before I clocked in. I worked on the register today. All in all, it was a good day, a few mishaps, but it was a good day overall. I work tomorrow 1-6 putting clothes on the floor. I was supposed to be off, but switched with a girl so she could work at Burger King tomorrow. She worked for me last night 5-10. We received a shipment today, so she was supposed to put clothes out tomorrow, but I will be doing it for her! I work Friday 5-10 and off Saturday! I was look forward to my Saturdays off to catch up on rest and shop or do something fun! :)

Recycled Picture Frame

I was following a Recycled Blog Hop this morning and decided to post this picture frame. I didn't enter my blog to join the hop. I just remembered this frame while going thru the hop!

I made this picture frame quite a few years ago. I don't remember the exact year, most likely the late 90s, judging by my haircut! My sister, Emily, and I did this little craft at my grandmother's one summer when we all got together for July 4. We used a disposable camera, I don't think they make the camera anymore. It was sorta like a Polaroid, cuz it printed the pics out as you took them, but was a lot smaller! Then we used popsicle sticks, glued them together, used Crayola Stampers markers to decorate the popsicle sticks, glued the picture to the popsicle sticks, and I later added the picture to construction paper and cardboard to make the back! I will always cherish this picture of Emily and I! :)

Name LO

The little baby in this LO is Caroline, one of my cousins. I made this last night while texting, watching the end of Hairspray and the end of the 1st game of the NBA Finals. I'm going to go hang out at the mall this afternoon before I go to work at 5 and close. I'll update my blog later tomorrow when I'm off! Have a great Friday!!
